My tickets have been purchased. That means this trip has turned from talk to reality. Knowing I am always one to spout off lots of grand ideas, even since I was a little girl, my dad has always said to me, "Laura, lots of people have good ideas." In this, he was implying that while my ideas may be good, many people can have these good ideas, but the action is what makes the difference. Doing something and going somewhere is what makes someone stand out in a sea of ideas, even good ones. So hopefully my life takes from me from thought to action, from standing still to going somewhere. So, here I go!

As for the flight details (the most expensive part of the whole trip):

• 9 flights

• 16,809 miles in the air for only 19 cents per mile! (that is me putting it as cheap as it can sound even though it is wildly expensive :) to fly to Africa)

• 4 airlines

• 37 hours and 1 minute on planes

• 1 seat... yes, it's just me, on 1 grand adventure, oh my word :)

• November 1: Car to Cincinnati, OH, USA; Plane to Washington, DC, USA; Plane to Frankfurt, Germany

• November 2: Plane to Northern Africa

• November 12: Plane to Nairobi, Kenya

• November 20: Plane to Johannesburg, South Africa; Plane to Cape Town, South Africa

• November 22: Boat to Walvis Bay, Namibia

• November 25: Boat to St. Helena, Jamestown (island in the Pacific)

• November 28: Boat to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

• December 3: Plane to Sao Paulo; Plane to Chicago, Illinois, USA

• December 4: Plane to Cincinnati, OH, USA; Car to Louisville, KY, USA, HOME
